Toilet

Living outside of the US, you have to get comfortable with saying the word "toilet". Out loud. In public. Why is it that we whisper this word? The rest of the world has no issues using the word toilet in polite company.

Here's a good game for you all in the US to play. Over the next few days, try using these phrases:

"Excuse me, where is the toilet?"
"S/He's in the toilet."
"Do you have a public toilet?"
"I'll be right there, I just need to stop at the toilet."

The only rule: You cannot drop or lower your voice when saying the word toilet. It must be said at the same volume and tone as the rest of the sentence.
