Well, not exactly pouring. But it is raining. REAL rain that collects in puddles and everything! Up until this week, any rain we have seen was enough to create a few rain spots on the windows of the car, but that was about it. But this week, real rain.
For the past week, it has been grey, cloudy, blustery, and rainy off and on. I LOVE IT! Yesterday, I needed my umbrella for the first time. After years of living in London, I got in the habit of tucking an umbrella in my purse. So, now I always have an umbrella with me - can't tell you how many times that has come in handy. I was the only person on the street who actually had an umbrella. Everyone else was dodging from shelter to shelter trying to stay dry - and not being too successful at it either.
This week, the weather prediction is for 40% chance of rain today and tomorrow with blustery winds. Then, on Wednesday a 100% chance of rain. We've heard over an inch of rain will fall. There are no storm drains here. So, even the slightest rain can create some pretty good sized puddles in the street. Already there are intersections and low spots on the road that have become filled with rain puddles. I can only imagine the scene when an inch of rain falls.
By Thursday, it will all be over and we'll be back to our regularly scheduled program - bright and sunny.
