Don't know how long Santa will make it around our house. Lyra asks too many probing questions. "How does he get all those toys in his bag?" "How does he get the bag up the chimney?" My standard response; "He's a magical fellow."
Yesterday, when reading a book that mentioned the Tooth Fairy collects teeth from older children and then gives them to new babies when they get teeth Lyra said, "That's not right. Babies have to grow their own teeth. How would the tooth fairy put a tooth onto their gum?" I had to agree that she was right. Really, how could I argue with that? But instead of stating that there is no Tooth Fairy, she has instead determined that this book is "lying". Strong words for a nearly-5 year old.
