Cabin Fever

You know that feeling. The pending sense of doom. Looking ahead toward months of sitting in the house with nothing to do. Racing from house to car to avoid the weather and then racing again from the car to work. Shouting at the kids/spouse - "Shut the door! Were you raised on a hill?" Running out to the car to get it started and letting it run a while before you head out to leave.

The whole world seems to slow down. The streets seem more empty, the options for what to do with the kids become more limited, the prospect of spending another afternoon trying to come up with creative ideas has your brain taxed. You sigh, well, we could go stroll around the mall. But there's nothing you need.

The weekends are even worse. Each day stretches before you with the challenge of finding "something to do". Visiting the playground - nope. Riding bikes - nope. Walking the dog - nope. Putzing in the garden - nope. What did we do last weekend? Oh, right, went to the mall. Sigh.

Even the animals are smarter than you and have headed off to more pleasant places. The birds have stopped chirping. Mosquitos and flies have died off. Every living thing has hunkered down to escape the misery.

Summer in Dubai.

"Raised on a hill"??

If you were raised on a hill then your doors would automatically fall shut.

Needlepoint? Crocheting? Knitting sweaters? Just kidding! Take up Chess? I cannot imagine. I turn into a cranky sweaty baby at 90 degrees with no humidity.

Cannot.
Imagine.

P.S. Come to Colorado.......

I'm sorry to hear that. I just got back from a couple days in Denver and the weather was gorgeous. Now I am back in cool and rainy Minnesota waiting for the weather to get gorgeous here. Soon you'll be here too; maybe the gorgeous weather is waiting for you.
