I really struggeld trying to figure out how to get the headscarf (shayla) right. The ladies here have a way of wrapping it around their head that I couldn't quite master. Turns out I didn't have to cover my head - so just wore the long black cover (abaya). You can't tell from this picture, but my abaya has two snaps at the top and is then open below so you can actually see what I'm wearing - kind of like a judges robe. After a while, you just forget that you're wearing it. I could see how it could be quite convenient. Just throw an abaya over a nasty t-shirt and shorts slip on a pair of high heels and "voila" you're ready for an evening out.
