Can you OD on family? I don't think so - at least not with mine. And believe me, we tried! The whole fam-damnly was in Minneapolis this past week. All except B-I-L and oldest nephew - they had to work. But the rest of us were all there - including Lyra's Great Grandma, my grandmother.
Grammy Camp is a "fat camp". But instead of going to Grammy Camp to lose weight, you go their to gain it. Even as we were groaning in agony from eating way too much we were plotting and planning our next meal. Oh boy were they great meals! Pork chops on the grill, juicy cheeseburgers, Davanni's pizza, pulled pork sandwiches - its was an eating fest!
The icing on the cake was a Pannekoeken Huis discovered by my sister. We were sure they had long-ago disappeared. But now they're back. Complete with the "PANNEKOEKEN" yell as the server hurries from the kitchen to your table. As we sampled one another's pannekoekens it was hard to decide if the Classic (with lemon and powdered sugar), the Rhubarb (with fresh strawberries), or the Bacon (with a side of applesauce) was the winner.
It was so much fun, we're planning Grammy Camp 2009. Dates to be announced.
