I'm Here

I'm here - arrived last night.

Had to laugh. After weeks of checking the weather in Dubai with nothing but sunshine and warm weather, I arrive on one of the few days that it was overcast.

Maybe I built the heat up in my mind, but it wasn't too bad. Definitely warm - no doubt. But not the furnace that I had expected. Temps were around 35 (near 95). Probably because I arrived after the sun went down.

This morning, is Sunday. I was awake a 4am (equivalent of 7pm Saturday at home). Work week here is from Sunday to Thursday. I had a short walk into the office. Most of the walk was on the shady side of the street and wasn't too hot. However, in the sunshine, it's a different story. You can feel the sun is so powerful! I think that I will soon do as the locals and convert my umbrella from being a "rain shield" to being a "sun shield". It seems to make a big difference.
