The shamal arrived again this week. Back to cool weather. The shamal comes in from the north and carries tons of sand from Iran over the Persian Gulf for us to breath and get into our eyes and ears. I guess it's unusal this time of year. But you could have fooled me - this is the second time in a month that we've had one.
Three days ago, we had temps near 90 and Russell and Lyra went swimming at the club. Today, we're in the mid-70's and will be down near 50 tonight. Actually, it's nice to have the cool. I was a bit depressed that it was warm so quickly - thinking that we were on the long stretch toward oven-hot temps.
Tonight we're going to the Dubai Jazz Festival. The line up is nearly 80% Swedish acts. What's up with that? Is Sweden the new hot bed for jazz artists? Anyway, it's free and I'm in the mood for some live music. Lyra likes jazz - always has - so we'll bundle up and head out to catch the acts.
We'll be seeing Christina Gustafsson http://www.christinagustafsson.com/track12.mp3
and Emily McEwan http://www.emi.se/artists/emily/album/
